just put together a little document comparing the watchtower's misquotes from page 7 of their trinity book.
i have been reading much of the ante nicene fathers lately and the more i read them it amazes me that the society would even mention them to refute the trinity.
by reading the writings from these early church fathers we can truly see that they belived the core doctines that mainstream christians follow today (for the most part).

The only trouble is, when I go to print, everything prints out except your document....wish I knew what to do to have it print out along with everything else. Any ideas?

today was the first of the two parter series on browbeating the inactive to get back to the meetings.. my other half who has been inactive for a short while received an email from a "friend" who's still in, acknowledging it's been a while since they last made contact and could they stop by to see how we're doing?.
the moment of truth - friends who ignore you and make no effort to contact you when you leave suddenly get a guilt trip over an article in the watchtower.. anyone else here had their door bell rung, received a phone call or email from a "concerned" friend due to this study article, or is it still early days?.
Aha! That's why we've been 'feeling the love!'
Coming up to our 1 year anniversary of ZERO meeting attendance with nary a phone call, but in the last month - FOUR!!! Everybody seems to be missing us! 2 social invites, 1 phone call consisting of a strong suggestion that meeting attendance is a 'MUST!' (after a year????), and another group 'inviting' themselves over for a visit. All fine and good...so far no problems! We keep it light and friendly, and always thank all for their concern...but let them know how good life has become for us!! What have we been doing away from the meetings? LIVING!

First off, good thread! The above quote from the 1925 book has got to be one of the most incongruous statements to be made by a spirit-directed organization that I have ever seen. Is it well-settled in their minds or does it just seem to be well-settled??? If they're spirit-directed, why does it need settling in the first place? Who writes this drivel? Anyhow, to think that some 7 million sheeple allow themselves (of which I was one for some 40+ years) to be directed by this mumbo-jumbo is truly mind-boggling.
I may be in the minority here, but this is how I am beginning to see some of the recent "changes" a la shortened meetings, consolidation of the book study, etc. Apostate at the helm or not, someone in the higher echelons seems to be doing all they can to wake up as many as still have a mildly functioning brain, probably because rank and file waking up singly, painful as it may be, is still preferable to mass hordes feeling scammed and lied to all at once, which will be inevitable once the whole house of cards comes tumbling down, probably in the next 5 years or less. The gig is up, and THEY KNOW IT!

After well nigh 40 years in this cult, I would say disagreements were the distinguishing feature of just about every congregation I was in...helped me FINALLY see the light! The disconnect between the love the 'titled ones' continually preach from the podium and the everyday reality of congregational disunity and strife ongoing between those selfsame hypocrites is actually what helped propel me to never sit through those aptly called 'boasting sessions' again. Small wonder why I always found the 'daily text' distasteful on the few mornings I actually was subjected to having it read, such as meetings for fs. Thanks for this flashback...it just reinforces my decision to never again subject myself to this propaganda.
i can't, once again, get our stereo to work... too many remotes, to many machines....so what i would like to hear tonight is your absolute favorite before this site closes.. any type of music...just what represents you!...and happy new year by the way!.
